Bottle 158/217. Opaque dark brown beer with a short lived chocolate coloured head that dissipated with an audible hiss. Light fruits on the nose. Palate is surprisingly light and a little crisp. Very nice red and black berry fruits from the Port barrel (I guess!). Juicy blackcurrant, cherry and others, really good fruit. The chilli kicks in half way through and builds in heat without ever getting out of control. It’s a cayenne pepper sort of heat. The porty fruits return before a neutral finish. Tolerable chilli aftertaste.

Bottle #158 of 272, thanks to Ken for this rarity! It pours near black with a pretty much no head.... The nose is rich plum, dark fruit, berry, oak, vanilla, spice, chilli spice and caramel. The taste is port, plum, raisin, chilli comes in later, earth, blackcurrant and jamminess. Finishes up spicy, Medium body and moderate carbonation. I like the port-aspect, but the spice doesn’t do much for me.

Bottle at Bruce’s, London - big thanks to Ken! Bottle 158/217. Pours dark brown with a small, brown cream head. Dark malts nose, definite chili spice, some dark fruits, dark cherries. Light to medium sweet flavor, nice dark berries, some dark sugars, burnt chilies. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Nice heat to finish, chili spice in the throat, sweet chocolate, grapes, raisins, dark cherries and dark berries. Good.

Bottle thanks to GRG1313 (bottle something out of 217). Pours with a black body with no head to speak of. Aromas are estery, sweet, peppery, fruity and vinous. Mild burn in the nose from the peppers. Flavors are sweet, sour fruit, peppery, spicy. Odd...just plain odd beer in every respect. The concept behind this beer is odd and the result is strange. Light bubbles and some pepper burn. "Interesting".

Sampled from the tap at 2011 FOBAB. Poured black with no head whatsoever. Aroma had a good amount of spice and peppers that were backed by dark grains, roasted malts and a hint of port. Flavor had more port in it which made for an interesting combination in combining the peppers with that note.
