Cask-conditioned at Bucks and Berks Beeriodical, Seven Stars, Bristol May 2012. Medium brown in colour with a decent, off-white head. Sweet, berry fruit, cinnamon and clove aroma with a hint of ginger. Flavour was sweet and spicy with a gently bitter finish. An enjoyable winter beer, even in May.

Cask at the Wandsworth BF, London. Pours dark red-brown with a foamy head. Big winter spice aroma (know what I mean?). Big sweet flavor with lots of herbs and spices, potpourri, cinnamon, dark bread, light leaves. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, lightly warming with tons of spice, bits of cinnamon, toasty sugar. A nice strong winter beer. Interesting to debut it at what is really more of a spring beer festival.

Cask at Wandsworth Beer Festival, March 2012. It pours very dark brown, with a thin off-white head. The nose is full of spice, sweet dark fruit (currant, fig, raisin..), bubblegum, red grape, vinous aspect, fruit cake and sherry. The taste is currant, fig, prune, spice, chocolate, alcohol, wood, sherry, red wineand baked goods, with a warming, dry finish. Medium to full body and soft carbonation. Flavoursome and good level of complexity. Very nice.
