Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, dried fruit, dark fruit, sweet dark fruit, chestnuts, wood notes, light alcohol. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, wood, dry, dried fruit. chestnuts. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20121005]

On tap at The Lion’s Pride. Comes to the table a slightly hazy deep amber/copper color with a nice sized fluffy off white head that displays nice retention and lots of lace. Smells of caramel, sugar, perfume, nuts, oak, and alcohol. It’s an odd nose that’s for sure. Light fruity and sugary flavor with a bit too much alcohol heat. Fruity, oaky, red wine vinous with a hint of oily nuts. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sugary vinous mouthfeel. Its a bit weird, but it really grew on me as I worked my way through the glass.

A hazed dark reddish brown ale with a thin moka head. In aroma, a strange iodine vinous malt, with thyme and Italian herbs. In mouth, a short explosion of sweet candy sugar, thyme, lactic acids, raspy notes, interesting. Bottle at Mondial 2011, June 9, 2011.

My bottle claims 9.6% Hazy red-amber beer with a good beige head. Very vinous, woody & liqueurish nose, runny cheese. Sweet, but also faint bitter-sourish taint; lots of cherries and vinous together. Lighter than expected for its ABV. Very smooth. Alcoholwarming, orangepeel in the aftertaste. Extremely vinous, characterfull beer. Mille grazie to the brewer!
