Cask. Very deep brown colour, close to black, with a small off-white head. Aroma is resin, liquorice, some toffee, caramel, spices and quite sharp edged. Flavour is very similar, and seems to have most of the stouty elements, but is a bit edgy, due to the lack of a proper malty body.

Cask at the Victoria, Rugby - 12/12/12. Light black with a good tan head that retains well. Good lacing follows. Nose is a little subdued, dark fruits, malt, touch of liqourice. Taste develops a little from this, dark malts, touch of coffee, light hoppage, metallic tones. Medium body with soft carbonation, smooth on the palate. Decent enough stout.

Cask at GBBF08. Fruity and roasted aroma. Almost black colour, small frothy head. The flavour starts off roasted with a little liquorice, turns fruity and finally sourish and salty. Strange combination, but OK.
