Cask at the Crewe Dog, 26/01/24. Golden blonde with a good sized white cap that retains, full glass lacing ensures. Nose is mellow citric zest, grass, melon, light breads. Taste comprises orange zest, citric tinged straw, airy malts, melon. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close splashed with light hop bitterness. Tidy cask golde.

Hand-pulled half-pint from Crewe Dog on Saturday 18th November 2023. First beer of the day and before the Latvian Day tasting with Martin. Old gold in colour, white head that hung around. Malty front and semi-sweet throughout, minimal hop action; liked it.

Cask at Crewe Dog, Crewe. Pours a golden amber with a small white head and good lacing. Floral hops in the aroma along with hints of pine. In the mouth it starts off sweet and malty, then becomes bitter and hoppy before fluctuating back to a happy medium. There’s plenty of flavour here too, marmalade, ginger, summer fruits and traces of apricot. Rounded off with a fairly dry finish. Much nice than I was expecting – more of a bitter (best) than a golden ale.
