Rauchwine, this time with a 3-hour boil for extra richness and ooomph - then we added 2kg fresh raspberries to 40L. So this one's in very limited quantities.

2019 version was 11.5%

Clear deep amber beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Smooth palate, not quite flat but, very very mild carbonation. Soft caramel malts, not too sweet. A pleasant light smoke, rounded soft smoke, no black ashy grit here. Dominant raspberry, a rich rounded ripe raspberry. Soft finish. A pleasant affair despite the flatness.

Bottle at home. Pours deep reddish orange, nose is huge raspberry up front, with smoke and caramel in the background, taste is tart raspberry, quite sweet, caramel, toffee, smoke is a bit too muted here. Still seems thin like the cherry version. --- Beer merged from original tick of Monsters: Heavy Rauch + (Raspberry) on 12 Dec 2019 at 11:43 - Score: 8

Bottle picked up from Torrside (via Eebria) consumed at Mum and Keith's in Kempsey, Worcestershire Friday 6th April 2018, Loz in Hastings with Jude and Isobel for the weekend. Pours dark brown with a little hazy compared to the standard version. There is light film across the surface. The smokiness in this is a little more subtle as the raspberries muscle in with their zappy fruitiness. It has a nice light smoke, raspberries offers up a good light zappy and fruity tang. caramel and with a meaty edge. It's a very good version of this beer the raspberries work really well in the this.
