An amber English-style ale that has a nice balance between hops and malt. It's the most popular of our beers and the most versatile in terms of pairing with food or people.

I had at least 6 of these this past weekend while bbq’ing. Pours golden orange. Tastes biscuity, of orange citrus, grains, and pretty earthy. Lacks a bit of punch and is drying on finish.

12 oz can with dinner at the Marriott in Quincy, Massachusetts. The pour is mostly clear copper with a firm one inch off white head. The aroma is caramel malt with a dry grassy hop. Pretty faint nose. The taste is a dull caramel maltiness, along with the grassy earthy hops. The malt is more present than the hops. Palate is medium bodied, dull carbonation, dry finish. This was OK, not sure how fresh it was.

$5 can from the Snuggery cart at Union Station, Chicago. I count this as a CCBW beer. Drank it on the train with no glass, so I can only gauge the color of the few drops along the can rim. Some foam peeks out when I pop the top. A warming generic beer smell comes out of the can opening. First impression is fizziness, similar to most canned beers, and not bad in itself. A few sips in, there’s a clear impression of earthy English hops. Light amber color in the rim. The character slowly asserts itself, from a plain ol’ beer to a full-on Pale Ale. Further on, the hops become more aggressive, even American, with some resiny zing. Some fruity ale esters pop in at the end.

Bottle. Light caramel malt aroma. Clear amber with a small off-white head. Light malt and strong spicy grassy hops flavor. There’s a strange saccharine type sweetness in the flavor also. Light to medium body, dry astringent finish.
