I Draught /I Huge darker cream head over reddish-brown, fully opaque beer; textbook lace. Smokey, smoked ham and dito mackerel, mineral². Smoked, Rauchmalz, salty, even a bit 'fishy' (sorry, no pun intended). Finish has a lot of dark malts. Chewy, feels much better bodied than 5.5% would warrant. Nice, typical Bamberger-style smoked.

Bottle, 0.33l. Aroma of roasted malt, smoke, leather and grass. Pours cloudy dark brown color with medium sized tan-like head and sparkling appearance. Taste starts with light sweet caramel, roasted malt and leather, following is grassy, herbal, slightly medicinal and umami, mouthfeel is smooth, while finish is pretty bitter. Medium body, slick texture and average carbonation in palate. Certainly not an arse...

Draft @ ML Fontainas.

Cask at Moeder Lambic. A hazed dark chestnut brown coloured pour with a loose light tan head. Aroma is semi sweet smoked earth, Salted malts, charcoal. Palate is soft, semi sweet, moderate carbonation.. Flavour is composed of earthy black malts, mellow smoked malts, bitter roast, burnt toast. Metallic finish.. Little under fermented.

Cask at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, 09/12/18. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a well presented lasting khaki cap. Nose is smoked malts, chocolate biscuit, dried fruits, liquorice, light spice. Taste comprises toffee, raisins, balanced smoke, pinch of tobacco, fruit loaf. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Decent smoked affair ... good balance ... smoke is noticeable but not overcooked.
