Draught at Ølhallen, Tromsø. Near black, small head. Aroma of spice and fudge. Mid sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Plenty of fudge and spice, notes of ginger. Low bitterness. Pleasant.

330 ml bottle, courtesy of Rune. Dark amber body with a decent beige head. Aroma of dark malt, caramel, dry fruit and a little hint of liquorice. Flavor is sweet and malty with caramel, dry fruit and a little hint of oxidation. Low bitterness, medium body and medium aftertaste. Interesting porter, nothing really extraordinary, but a quite solid brew.

330ml unlabelled bottle from brewery generously brought and shared by Rune @Rating Session 3.Jan.2012. Dark mahogany body with beige foamy head that diminishes and leaves a filmy layer on top. Sweet notes of prunes and dates, wet malt and tasting a bit sour. Based on other ratings and also comments during the rating, I suspect that this one might have been damaged.

Stopped regular rating 22nd Oct 2012 so this is one of my occasional ratings. Bottle at Olhallen, Tromso, Saturday 19th January 2013 in the company of Finn & Rune. Sweeter on the nose than the Nissefant, sweeter and maltier in the mouth it’s good. Smooth, soft and easy going beer. A7 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.5

Clear deep brown colour with a fine tan head that leaves a fine lacing. Caramel malt and light fruity aroma. Medium pluss body and slightly sweet. On the sweet side ( and that do not remind me of a porter) with lots of caramel malt, toffee and a soft carbonation. Oily texture.

Bottle. A clear, brown beer topped by a small, dense, light beige head. Roasted malts, dried fruits, some chocolate, a dessert I can’t really identify and some baked apples. Nice flavor with chocolate, dried fruits, caramel hints, baked apples and a faint bitterness. Full body, soft carbonation and a little sweetness. A quite pleasant one, sure suited for the dark season. 120622
