Bottle from the brewer’s own stand at the Good Food Show at Birmingham NEC. Hazy gold in hue. Definitely a whole Thai food thing going on here- there’s fresh lime and lemongrass with a touch of a chilli kick. It could be a bit grim if the flavours were overdone but fortunately they’ve kept it all quite light, and the dry finish of the underlying beer balances it and brings it all together rather well. Yeah, this works for me.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. If this is the best of the bunch I shudder to think. Clear piss yellow, smells of acrid ginger beer. Taste of cheap limeade and sorrow. Light building chilli burn just adds salt to the wound, to mix imagery. Somehow it ends up sweet. Something I wish I hadn’t discovered.

Very hazy gold beer, good white head. Palate is a little dry and crisp. Mild pale malt. Good blend of lime and ginger with just a touch of chilli. Finishes crisp. Okay but this is really about the additions to the beer and I can’t taste any beer!
