500ml bottle from Scottish Real Ale Shop, Kilmahog. Pours deep hazed brown with a medium tan head. Aroma is soft caramel malts. Taste continues with some darker leafier woody moments nestled amongst some comforting smoke and soft treacle. Enjoyable scotch ale.

Dark amber - brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is light, semi dry and mildly crisp. Fluffy malts, mildly sweet, traces of caramel and coffee. Floral bitterness with a touch of citrus underneath. Dry finish. A tad dry, but clean and pleasant enough.

500ml bottle from the Scottish Real Ale Shop. Pours clear dark brown, thick off-white head. Very inviting. Aromas are chocolate and light coffee, light yeasty whiff. Taste has more roasted bitterness, dried fruit, dried peel. Medium body, creamy texture, roasted bitter finish. Good.

50cl Bottle Spain slaughter pre-drink, thanks for the gift Suus! Neuk is funny in Dutch, means F*ck *giggles* . Dark brown to black colour with a red hue, beige head. Aroma of dark fruits, prunes, some cold coffee, toffee, hint of roast. Flavour is light-sweet, watery, cold coffee, prunes, figs, some toffee, light leafy, decent bitter finish. Gets better and gains depth when it warms up. Light-bodied. Nice, but more a Mild Ale to me.

Bottle, gift from Paula. Dark brown body with a thin beige head. Nice lacing. Weak aroma of milk chocolate and dark fruits. Flavour of wood, light smoke and a hint of liquorice. Thin body with a watery mouthfeel. Soft carbonation prickle. At best it’s subtle and sessionable, at worst it’s diluted and weak.
