750 ml corked bottle. Pours still copper. Aroma is vinegar, coffee and that’s about it. Taste is a little rotten; tastes a little like black coffee spiked with fermented honey; raisins come out as it warms. Mouthfeel is syrupy like any mead should be. I’ve had a lot better, that is for certain.

Notes from 6/12. 5oz sampler glass from Sunset Grill. Clear, golden amber color. Slightly dull though. Scent of smokey coffee, tobacco, & earthy honey sweetness. The honey was a bit overshadowed, now that I think about it. Taste is mild citric honey & brown sugar. Maybe something nutty. Coffee flavor is second runnings, bland coffee. Not bitter or burnt thankfully, but boring, & the honey isn’t bold enough to try & make up for it. Slightly sappy texture initially, turning very thin. No crazy off flavors & mellow alcohol keep it tolerable. Coffee meads do seem to work, but not this one.

Corked bottle, courtesy of Jan (fonefan)
Golden color. Some aroma of coffee and honey, indeed weird; it smells like an ashtray. Very weird flavor too, honey and coffee, ashy.
Strange idea.
