Ever so slightly hazy copper and deep amber coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of nuts, earth, malt, grain, specialty grains, toffee and a bunch of deeply caramelised sugars. Medium-bodied; Very strong malt and pungent grainy flavour at first with a ton of earthiness, nut flavours and a dry hit of toffee and candy notes, with a lot of pungency in terms of the yeast and some breadiness shows towards the finish. Aftertaste is dry, very flavourful and quite pungent throughout with a good deal of caramelised sugars, toffee, earth and nuttiness with a smooth complexity from the grain, malt and especially nuts that dominate here. Overall, a pungent and deeply malty beer with a bunch of grainy flavours, some dry malts, a good deal of lager yeasts that show through pretty much everything, but a large caramelised sugar sweetness that is more powerful than all the other flavours. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Total Wine in Manassas, Virginia on 19-May-2020 for US$1,19 sampled at my house here in Washington on 06-October-2020, during the [sad 2020] season of Oktoberfest.
