A seasonal fruity ale has been made with New Zealand Nelson Sauvin hops. Crisp citrus flavours of grape and grapefruit mellow into a subtle spiciness.

500ml bottle from Beer me up Scotty, Shrewsbury. Not entirely sure why it’s called Champagne Ale. No reference on the label. Pretty much tastes like a standard English blonde to me. Not too much going on and pretty forgettable.

Bottle from Spirited Wine, Manchester. Golden with a thin head. This has a high hoppy, high fruity pale ale aroma. Fairly citric in its taste although a touch watery.

Bottle. Nose is grapefruit undercut with cereal. Taste is grapefruit rind, leading to a soft slightly herbal/floral finish, a touch of the promised spice. Mouthfeel is, as with most of the Hornbeam beers, awful: thin and watery. A forgettable beer.
