Light, refreshing and beautifully balanced, Two Hoots is a golden ale savoured and favoured by the wise. At 4.2% ABV, it’s an easy-drinking beer suitable for a session in the pub or evening relaxer surrounded by home comforts.

Two Hoots is brewed with pale ale and lager malts with a generous helping of cascade whole hops, a favourite of the craft breweries in the US. The result sweeps you in to an invigorating, bright ale with a citrusy aroma and delicate fruit characteristics. Smooth on the palate, this ale won’t be ruffling any feathers.

A great golden beer that brings great wisdom all year round.

500ml bottle. Pours dark gold with a thin head. Aroma is vanilla and boiled sweets. Taste has some fruity malt to start with lots of fruity boiled sweets on the finish.

50cl bottle from Sainsburys. Amber with a ring of white head; simple malty aroma; refreshing malty flavour with some honey and some light, grassy hops, giving a slight citrus lift towards the end; but this is soul-less, over-pasteurised, beer.

Bottle at home in London. My first beer of the Sainsburys Beer-O-Rama Party. Pours clear gold with a weak, white head. Mostly malt aroma, definite honey and pasteurization. Light to medium sweet flavor, some white sugar, toasty crackers, slight lemon. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Mild sugary finish, weak malts, very light bitterness of toasted hay. Mediocre.

500ml bottle as part of the Sainsburys beer challenge 2011. Clear glass bottle doesn’t start me with a huge hope for this beer. Clear mid gold colour with lasting thin white head. Pasteurised neutered boiled sweet malt aroma with some vague grassy hop notes. You have to wonder at what the brewery is trying to do with something like this. The pasteurisation makes it a passionless beer. Some ok grassy hop notes try to struggle out of the boiled sweet flavour, but it is truly a shame that brewers still filter and pasteurise. As Cartman would say in South Park, "Lame." Shame as the grassy hop notes could be good.
