Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a very cloudy orange-amber color with a large creamy white head. The aroma was sweet, sugary, citrusy, yeasty and had a spiced apple undertone. The flavor was sweet, tangy and tart with a cinnamon spiced apple undertone and an element of brown sugar. The beer is quite full bodied.

(Bottle) Clear orange colour, lots of sediment in the bottle. Brief, white head. Spicy nose with notes of honey, flowers, ginger, cinnamon and coriander. Slightly closed. Spicy, sweet taste with distinct honey notes, hints of flowers (roses) and sugar candy. Fiery and warming, but still hiding the alcohol very well. Nice and tasty, with ginger and roses dominating the aroma and flavour.

750ml Bottle from Ledgers in Berkley, CA; Cork came out nicely, no foaming!Nose of spice, caramel, and a light menthol hint like a cough drop (ginger, maybe); lightly hazed amber with a small off-white head; flavor is spicy, caramelly, with a bunch of fruitiness, and a bit of menthol. Different from most Belgian strong Ales!

Bottle consumed July 27, 2006. Copper color with orange hue. Large bubble head that vanished quickly. Aroma has several fruity notes like raspberry, apple and orange. Surprisingly smooth taste considering the vibrant aroma. Light fruity flavor that has melded together. I can’t really distinguish the various fruity flavor notes. Great taste. The fruit, spice and yeast all seem to mix perfectly. I get no sense of the 10.5% ABV at all. Can this beer get any better with more age? I might have to find out.

(Bottle 34,1 cl) Hazy, dark golden beer with a handsome, creamy head leaving some pretty laces. Slightly herbal aroma. Sweetish and malty with spicy, almost herbal notes - ginger? Very subdued bitterness. 021005

A hazy amber beer with a disappearing white head. The aroma is sweet spicy, with ginger standing out. The flavor is sweet with very powerful notes of ginger, but also with notes of yeast and alcohol.

Cloudy apple cider body, medium buff head. Spicy aroma (pepper? clove?), with apple skin, tropical fruit (pineapple especially), and white grapes. The aroma screamed "Tripel." Rather bitter spicy body with white grape, pineapple, bread/crackers, and apple, obviously consistent with the aroma. Medium-bodied with moderate alcohol presence and a crisp, bitter, spicy aftertaste. A solid offering from Unibroue if a bit spice-dominated for my tastes.
