Orca is 4.2% stout which is deep dark black with a creamy head. Rich and full flavoured with creamy chocolate, nuts and notes of coffee from the roasted barley, with s bittersweet balance from the oats. Orcas, despite their reputation, are quite social amongst themselves. Hoxa Head, South Ronaldsay, is one of the UK’s best places to whale watch. It will be worth the wait, like a pour of a pint of this Stout.

Cask at The Grill. It pours jet black with a thick and lively dark tan head. The aroma is rich, dark roasted, bitter, charred, dark chocolate, umami, liquorice and burnt treacle. The taste is firmly dry, dark roasted malt, charred, umami, liquorice, toothy, very bitter actually and it lingers throughout burnt toast, chewy, tanni, peppery spice and coffee beans with a bitter, lingering finish. Average carbonation and decent body. Robust and satisfying. Very well done.
