Cask gravity at K&ES railway BF 2025. Black beer thin tan head. Juicy molasses aroma. Hides the abv well. Decent strong mild. Some chocolate some molasses flavour. Light dryness on the finish. Decent.

Beer number #12 tried at the Skipton Beer Festival 2025, the last and only dark beer today too. Strong in name, although not particularly in taste or mouthfeel, which is smooth. Dark malt taste, which lingers.

Bottle. Beer Central Sheffield. Quite a lively pour sits mostly clear very dark brown. Thick lively lasting open tan foam. Looks like there’s happening’s happening. There is definitely a bit of twang here that possibly shouldn’t be here. Also notes of light roast chocolate malt and some wood ash. Vinous heavy cake mix. It’s not unlike the Stouterik the missus has on the go really. Taste is dry and lightly bitter. Modicum of chocolate malt sweetness. Dry on the palate with very brisk foamy carbonation. Dry light to moderate bitterness to finish. A bit wonky I’d say, but not to any particular detriment. Gonna score it on the enjoyment level of things.
