Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Clear, deep chestnut brown. Bubbly, lasting, tan head. Nose has wet demerara. Runny honey. Light, fudgy chocolate notes. Lots of date and raisin as the beer warms. Taste is expectedly sweet, with a roast malt bitterness. Medium body. Nice bit of chew. Soft carbonation. Pretty robust bitterness to finish. North Riding do some fantastic dark beers.

Cask @ Calans, Hebden Bridge. Very dark with a light-brown creamy head. Honey is dominant and provides a good smoothness to the ale. There's a fusion here with roasted malts, evident in both aroma and taste. Very dense but very tasty.
