Ohboyohboyohboy, another pale lager of nondescript origin from central Canada! I doubt I’ll ever try them all, Ontario’s just too big a place for me to wrap my head around, but I try to try them when I find ’em. So this one pours with some decent head and an orange body, with zero carbonation apparent. Aroma is classic lager cardboard - nothing more, nothing less. Flavour is a watery malt mess that is close to a non-alc beer, but somehow this might be a good thing since this is supposed to be 5.5%; oh, I guess it’s more of a swampwater effect really. However this could be a decent brew for a fine spring day in May on your lakefront cottage, a few dozen of these in the cooler with the fishing rod out. Yeah, I could get into that. But actually I’d probably just end up drinking something that waste actually tasty instead of this.

341ml Bottle: BBD 31 Jul 2013. Drank in my Berlin hotel room on 25 Feb 2013 (don’t ask!). It’s a Lager: clear golden, bright and clean looking, usual white head. Grainy nose and taste: typical International Lager/Pilsner without any interesting or different attributes to the thousands of others out there. Nothing wrong with it: just your usual, unusual Lager/Pilsner.

Well... it tastes better than moosehead at least, not overly foul. Smell is a bit off and taste doesn’t leave anything to be desired. Piss yellow colour.

Originally rated June 2006. Bought a cheap 24-pack of this stuff at The Beer Store. Pours a straw yellow colour with a big frothy white head that has pretty good retention and decent smudgy lace. Lively carbonation with over-average sized bubbles. The nose is a good mix of hop, sweet malt and mild corn. Medium stickiness for the mouthfeel. Grainy malt start with a big corn finish. Some nice fruit comes out in the aftertaste. Originally tasted from the bottle, the fruit seemed like rhubarb. One of the better "Value Brands" at The Beer Store, but still, hard to drink to many of these in a row.

Canette 473ml.
