Weizen komt uit Beieren, het woord betekent tarwe. Het is mooi troebel wit van kleur, smaakt fris, licht bitter en heeft een briljante zachte afdronk. Kenners proeven vast banaan, citroenen en kruidnagel. De gerst, tarwe en hop komen allemaal uit onze eigen regio en zijn nog biologisch ook. Hoe mooi is dat? Weizen is op zijn allerbest op je teenslippers of blote voeten.

Tap at De Klep, Venlo, 27/04/13 as ’Gulpener Biologisch Weizen’. Hazed golden/yellow with a white head. Nose is light smoke, banana, toffee. Taste comprises wheat, citrus, banoffee pie. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dryish finish. Ok Hefe.

Frisch hefig-bitterer Antrunk. Im Mittelteil eher herb, Kräuternoten. Der typisch belgische Touch ist hier nicht von der Hand zu weisen, frisch, stimmig. 10/9/9/9/10/9

300ml bottle. Hazy golden colour with average to huge, half-way lasting, white head. Wheaty and fruity aroma has an apple note, hints of yeast and husk. Taste is minimally sweet wheat malty, fruity with a citrus note, some apple, a spicy yeasty touch. Good.

Bottle as Biologisch Ur-Amber @ home. Hazy/murky yellow colour with a big head that doesn’t last. When pouring it, it sounds like a fanta. Smells banana, sweet, candy, sugar. Oh boy. Tastes banana, sweet, malts.. That’s mostly it. I don’t really like it, but i’ve had worse. Thin to medium body with a really flat carbo.

Bottle shared. Pours cloudy golden with an off white head. Aroma of banana, yeast and wheat. Flavour also has some citrus and spice, medium sweet and light bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

33cl bottle @ home. Hazy yellow color, small white head. Don’t smell much. Taste is pretty flat as well, just lightly malts, lightly yeasty, lightly sweet. Low body, low carbo.

Bottle 300ml.Unclear medium orange yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is light malty, wheat, moderate yeasty, spicy, fruity, bubble gum, clove, banana notes. Flavour is moderate sweet with a long duration, clove, yeast, artificial sweet. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120316]
