Bottle as part of the 12 stouts of christmas from bristol beer factory online. Dark black mahogany thin tan head with big bubbles. Chalky roast aroma with a tart edge. The flavour is fantastically complex. Roasty coffee core with a tonne of raspberry tartness. The raspberries make it seem more sweet but it has a lovely finish.

Black, big deep tan head that dissipates to thin layer, moderate lacing
Aroma - Massive fresh raspberry, moderate tart, very fruity, faint background of dark malts, quite vinous, probably some very fruity dark chocolate in there
Taste - Big time fresh natural raspberry, dark deep rich malts, soft plain Lindt chocolate, red berry fruits, some fruity tartness, so well balanced, complex flavours, very moreish - it gets better with the drinking, booze is so well hidden
Palate - Medium carb, medium to full body, smooth texture. Finish is rich dark malt and raspberry, then a bit of roast comes though leaving a dry tail
Overall - This is superb - the raspberry is so fresh and natural tasting with a super flavoured stout...on cask I imagine this would be wonderful

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours a clear black with a vague orange hue and a small, beige head. Very intense and sweet raspberry aroma overpowering the roast. Medium body, sweet roast, again heavy raspberry notes with a slight tartness. No real hoppiness, but a slight malt bitterness. 221112

Bottle at my Pre-CBC Tune-Up Tasting. It pours very dark brown, with a thin beige head. The nose is raspberry, charcoal, roasted malt and jam. The taste is raspberry, jammy fruit, varnish, roasted malt, charcoal, toast, spice, treacle and alcohol warmth, with a dry-roasted finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. The amount of raspberry is just right. Well balanced. One of the best BBF stouts out there.

ChrisOs Early December Tasting. Opaque black beer, good tan head. Light palate, semi dry. Smooth dark malt supports mildly tart raspberry. The malt turns creamy before the semi dry finish. Nicely joined up enjoyable fruit stout.
