Black colour, large long-lasting creamy tan head, good lacing. Roasted malty nose, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, smoke, syrup. Taste initially medium sweet, followed by strong bitterness and less sweetness, resulting in lasting bittersweet sensation (chocolate, coffee) with hints of dark fruits. Medium to full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation; bittersweet taste lingers on in finish, very good.

27.09.2013, 0,33l bottle shared with Palme @ hotel in Amsterdam:
Nice slightly brown creamy longlasting head. Aroma is kind of neutral, slightly sour-ish roasted, dark malts, caramel, dark sugar, chocolate, coffee, cardboard, butterscotch. Taste is dark malts, hops, burnt caramel, butterscotch, cardboard, grass, bitter chocolate, hay, coffee. Medium bitterness, slightly dry mouthfeel. Pretty boring.

Bottle. Pours murky black with huge foamy brown head. Aroma is heavy roasted malt, hints of camp fire smoke, milk and overripe plums. Taste is very rich with initial sweetness then heavy bitter, medium sweet and light acidic. Body is oily and mouthfilling with crisp carbonation. Finish is very long and rich with notes of coffee, sweet licorice, gravy, dark fruits, toasted bread, Sunday roast. This is a classic beer, but the aroma is a bit vague compared to the taste and finish.

Nearly black, no head. It has a regular roasted malt aroma and is relatively strong tasting but palatable with a small fizz in the throat.

Iโ€™m Dutch, why would I need a special version of the great and mighty Guinness? They even sweetened it up, the bastards. I prefer the original.

Aftertaste: cocoa powder, mocha, bitter hops, bit sourish, cheesy touch, more dark chocolate, coffee.

Deep black colour with a dark brown, thick head, long lasting. Smells roasted malts, coffee and burnt bread. Taste too, but is a strange bitter/sweet together. Round finish, less dry than usual Guinness. A background taste of smoked a nd burnt, coffee bottom also. Full bodied, and low/medium carbonation. Alcohol completely hidden. A nice beer, interesting, but a smoker would like it better than me :) anyhow, a good beer.

Bottle at home, thanks to an IP trade with Dennis, 02/02/13. Light black/dark mahogony brown in the light with a thin tan head that dissipates and retains as a thin film and edgeing. Nose carries roast malt, cardboard, mineral tones, metallic notes, dark toffee, hint of coffee. Taste comprises roast malts, cardboard/paper, hint of chocolate, mineral tones. Medium bodied, prickly carbonation - too much so, dry finish. Better than standard Guinness but still nothing special!
