Cask at Hen Orsaf JDW, Aberystwyth. Poured a clear copper colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is malt, light woody hops. The flavour is over moderate bitter, with a smooth, earthy, light floral, big woody hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish.

[Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading.] A bright amber pour with a tight creamy head; estery aroma; smooth biscuity body with some pear and an aggressive vegetal bitterness; then a dry finish with a lasting bitterness. A solid IPA.

Cask at Standing Order, Derby. Pours a slightly hazy golden amber with a small almost white head. The aroma is mainly hops, plus some traces of generic citrus. In the mouth is bitter with a ccreamy texture, and some underlying sweetness. Flavour has traditional hops, honey and treacle, with later on some peanuts and hints of alcoholic strength. Finish is quite bitter and slightly sticky. It’s OK.

5.8% and deffo on IPA for me. 750ml swing top job. Baker and Larners of Holt. Soft haze on a pale coppery gold. Beautiful soggy white foam. Orangey and piny on top of semi sweet digestive biscuit malt. Smooth and easy bitterness. Lovely condition. Great old school gear.
