Cask half pint at the Phoenix, London Victoria. Served a bit too warm. Amber colour, moderate off-white head. Moderate malty aroma, a hint of caramel and lightly roasted malts. Malty flavour with some roasty notes, decent hops in the finish.

Cask at the Phoenix. It pours clear amber with a medium off-white head. The nose is earthy, bitter-sweet, sweaty, toasted grain and stewed orange. The taste is bitter, toasty grain, brown bread, earth, spicy hop, pepper and citrus zest with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Condition is particularly good. A solid and rather drinkable bitter.
