Cask at The Rake, London. Decent beer overall. Pours clear, dark red with a small, off-white head. Light spiciness, sugar, doughy bread. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Simple.

Cask at the White Horse. It pours deep red-brown, with a thin bubbly off-white head. The nose is cherry, blackcurrant, wood, alcohol and some port. The taste is caramel, wood, candy floss, astringency, smoke, leather, fig, blackcurrant, blueberry, raisin and port, with underlying alcohol warmth. It’s full-bodied and has soft carbonation. It’s flavoursome and well balanced, good job!
