Draft @ Dungeness Bay Seafood, Sea-Tac Terminal S. Pours clear gold, nice hoppy piney fruity nose, continuing taste with a rather poky hop-forward character, fairly sweet with good grapefruit and pine leanings. Not bad.

Draft at Seattle Taproom. Nice caramel-amber pour. Resin forward hops, pine, caramel, and a little fruit. Dry finish. Tasty beer.

Can at home, 18/02/17. Lightly hazed golden amber with a decent off white head. Nose is caramel malts, bitter orange, toasted grains, straw, biscuit, earthy hops. Taste comprises grapefruit, light floral schmack, caramel malt, toasted bread, orange peel, grains, sweet licks. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close doused with hop bitterness. Ok IPA .. old Skool malt forward funtime stylee.

There is no chance that I have never had this beer. I know I’ve had it, and I can recall having it many times, so I was very surprised when I ripped this can open during the football games, and hopped on to see what I rated it, I had nothing to see. In that case, thanks for the can/new rate luttonm! Pours a thick, glowing orange, with moderate sediment, and a thick foam head and lacing. Juicy orange hop aroma. Flavor is steady hop bitterness, balanced with a rich malt bill. Pretty good IPA here. A classic IPA that I’m not surprised it has remained in bars all around Seattle as their IPA option. Has it’s slight flaws in my opinion, but as an overall, a solid IPA here.

Can from Total Wine in Tukwilla. How old? Who knows? Maybe new, maybe years old. Though, I doubt its too old. Basically, this is what DIPA tasted like in the early 2000s and Hale’s doesn’t give a fuck. I guess super mongooseseses or mongoossi. Fortunately, the caramel malts aren’t overly sweet and caramel and the bitterness isn’t too high. Not my likes but within a doable range.

Can from BottleDog Kings X/Clerkenwell, Thursday 17th March 2016 consumed on the train en route to Edinburgh in the company of Dad and Barry Friday 18th March 2016. Hazy gold, maybe more warm gold in colour with a white head. The aroma is pine with a touch of grapefruit backed up by some maltiness. Sweet maltiness in the mouth, the flavour is very much in the vein of many other American IPA?s but citrus and pine jostle for attention also. Like this. A7 A3 T8 P4 Ov15 3.7

355ml can from Beers of Europe. 7.0%. Pours hazy golden orange with a thin white head. Caramel, resin, pine aromas. Tate is more of the same. Oily texture, sweet finish.

Can. Hazy gold beer, decent pale cream colour head. Palate is airy, decent fine carbonation. Fluffy creamy malts with a trace of caramel. Spicy hops. Ripe orange and bitter orange peel. Smooth fruity finish. Spicy bitter linger. Not that complex but satisfying.
