Orange zest & juice have been added to our Chocolate Stout just prior to bottling to give a fresh orange aroma & flavour to the beer. The classic chocolate orange combination work incredibly well together in this rich, smooth stout.
The orange character adds a refreshing aspect to the beer.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours an almost clear dark brown with a vague orange hue and a creamy light brown head. Sweet, vanillaish roasty nose. Medium body, sweet vanillaish roast, lots of cocoa, no real bitterness - and no traces of orange juice or whatever was added. Simply a good, sweet Stout. 221112

Bottle at Pat’s Birthday Tasting at Chriso’s, London. Pours cloudy brown with a small, beige foam head. Roasted dark malt nose. Medium sweet flavor with dark malts, some roast. Not much orange, really. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Faintly drying on the finish wit further roasted malts, some toasted sugars, and light chocolate. Decent.

Bottle at my Pre-CBC Tune-Up Tasting. It pours very dark brown, with a thin beige head. The nose is chocolate, orange and roasted malt. The taste is orange, roasted malt, chocolate, smoke, chewy malt and caramel. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Well balanced. Definitely one of the better BBF stouts.

Bottle. Jet black with a slight tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, plain chocolate and bitter orange. Flavour had plenty of chocolate upfront and some supporting sweetness, before orange took over, with slightly oily notes and a dry finish. Very enjoyable.
