It’s a triple imperial stout with lots of stuff in it. It’s full of beans, three different types in fact (coffee, vanilla and cocoa). It’s 11% and black. You wouldn’t neck it very fast, it will be seriously expensive for one thing. Also, you wouldn’t drink much of it because of the intense flavours. It is unlikely to cause major drunken behaviour mainly because it is aimed at beer geeks rather than tramps.

Bottle@yesprs - Black pour with tan head. Sweet malty aroma and taste, harsh roasted coffee, herbal hoppy action, some burnt notes, not getting on with this.

330ml bottle @ 12th Shrewsbury Bottle Share, courtesy of Simon! Pours dark with minimal head. Week-old coffee dregs aroma. Horrible dregs / vanilla on initial sip, syrupy, bitter, rich and generally rather unpleasant. Not for me I’m afraid.

28th April 2015: 330ml bottle split at the Shrewsbury Bottle Exchange Group meeting. Dark and forbidding, dregs of the coffee machine came to mind when I sniffed and drank this. Yet I also found it sweet and interesting: let’s leave it at that.

33cl bottle. Pours black, thin brown head. Aroma is exploding with strong coffee notes, dark chocolate, ash, vanilla. Flavor lacks the intensity of the aroma, got mostly ash and soy sauce, burnt wood. Coffee and vanilla in the finish. Slightly disappointed, because the aroma was so good.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized dark brown head. Aroma is malts, dark and roasted malts, coffee, espresso, loads and loads of coffee and espresso, vanilla. Taste malts, again loads of coffee and espresso, quite some vanilla, sweetness as well as bitterness, slightly iron. Wow, loads and loads of flavors mixed together. Not completely balanced, but certainly not a mess. I think this is a wonderful beer, but I just happen to not like vanilla.
