Cask at the Reading Beer Festival 2012. Pours clear brown with a light, foamy head. Mild roasty and toasty caramel in the nose. Medium sweet falvor, some dark sugars, a bit of plastic, faint toasted grass bitterness. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sticky finish, some light earth, a bit more plastic, roasty malts. Not awesome.

Cask at the Henley Brew House. Deep mahogany with a tawny glow and a thin cream head; chocolate malt aroma; soft and sweet with a drinking chocolate flavour to start; then becoming more complex with a dry, prickly, bitterness, and a mix of coffee and red fruit flavours and a warming finish. I didn’t spot the citrus, but otherwise this was rather good.

Cask@Reading Beer Festival 2012 (thanks to cgarvieuk for sharing a splash!). Dark brown colour with a small beige head. Aroma is mild roasted malts, some citrus, grass and mild nectary notes along with some ashy notes. Flavour begins with being rather nice roasted malts, toffee, ashes, liquorice and mild fudgelike notes and finishes nutty, fruity, grassy and herbal.
