Spotty beige head on a reddish brown coloured body.
Toffee, berry & malt aroma.
Medium bodied, soft on the tongue thinning out to a cloying back.
Berries, bready, pear, clove, woody & malt tastes with a tangy finish.
It's one of them that would be way better from Cask.

Bottle online from Beers Of Europe. Pours a clear chestnut colour with a thin soapy looking off-white head. Aromas of dry dark fruits, toffee, caramel and toasty brown bread. Taste has more dark fruits, toffee, butterscotch, peppery spice and more toasty brown bread. A touch of roasted malts and lots of earthy hops on the finish. Medium body, average carbonation and slightly oily mouthfeel. Quite a decent beer.

Light brown colour with quick fading head. Aroma and flavour have some floral hop notes. Some nice dried fruits add sweetness.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol March 2018. Deep gold in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Leafy hops. some hedgerow fruits, digestive malts, leading to a decently bitter finish. Ok.

Cask @ JDW Shrewsbury Hotel. Pours clear amber, no head or lacing remaining whatsoever. Malt on the nose. Watery on the palate, overly bitter, burnt woody, awful.. seems badly kept, rated objectively.

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Amber with a lasting beige head and a light fizz. Vanilla, caramel, peardrops, cough mixture and artificial strawberry. A little fake chocolate in there too. Strawberry cream chocolates is what I'm thinking. Rather sweet, with just a vague hint of earth that fails to balance it. Slightly odd, can't decide if I like this one or not, although on reflection I think probably not. Definitely too high on the peardrops in the aftertaste. Might be better spiced up and used as a Christmas beer?
