The story of India pale ale (IPA) is one of the most romantic in the historyof beer. At the height of its empire, Britain had emigrants, sailors and troops all around the world—with India being one of its most important outposts.

A hoppy Christmas beer If at some point you think you have had enough of the sweet Christmas beers, Christmas treats and the other things we consume at Christmas time, then you should try a Hornbeer Julehumle. It is not a fiercely hopped beer, but a mild IPA that is nicely dry hopped. That’s why it is a very refreshing beer and makes a nice change to the more traditional Christmas beers. Hops give a good counteraction to the heavy Christmas food, so try a glass with your Christmas Dinner. Whether you have been rockin’ around the Christmas tree or singing Christmas songs, you can also enjoy a cold Julehumle. Happy Christmas!

On tap at OT. Hazy amber with a medium head. Aroma of soap, hops and something that reminded of lactose. Similar taste. The body was medium and the finish quite bitter. Drinkable but a bit odd.

Bottle, 6%. Good, rough teaish and spicy hop aroma. Cloudy orange amber colour. Small stable creamy off-white head. The flavour is sweetish and spicy from the hops. Has a good and clean medium bitterness. Sort of teaish the finish along with a mild (unwelcome) yeast note. High carbonation.

Ambar, bastante clara. Espuma media. Aroma a dulce naranja y té. Limpia en boca, con cuerpo media y predominio dulce. Sirope. Pero también sabor a naranjas y un toque salado curioso y diferente. Final largo y amargo. Merece. Aunque no está claro por qué es navideña, está muy buena.

(Draught at Man in the Moon, Stockholm, 4 Dec 2014) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, hoppy nose with notes of toast, citrus, orange peel and a touch of resin. Malty, fruity taste with caramel, toast, citrus peel, grapefruit and a generous resiny/citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with balanced sweetness. Tasty and well made with lots of fresh hops. Nice one.

Bottle shared at chriso Snow Tasting - London. Pours lightly fuzzy amber with a fine, white cream head. Lots of hoppy pine on the nose. Light to medium sweet flavor with toasty malts, light dry caramel, pine, spice. Medium bodied with average, creamy carbonation. Piney hops in the finish, dry bread and caramel. Fine.
