The taste of grain has always been a vital part of the Scottish brewing tradition. We took the convention one step further, milling fine porridge oats right here in the brewery.

The result is an ale with the flavour of gentle hops, a creamy head and just the right amount of bitterness.

Golden, slightly dark pour with a white head, aromas of grains/malts, yeast, some mineral, hints of fruit (citrus); tastes similar with a slightly bitter finish. Enjoyed it.

Bottle at the Wee Puffin, Granton on Spey. Didn't know it was brewery with porridge oats. How Scottish. Anyway. Aroma is somewhat pubby. Gold colour. Clean taste with a munchy bitterness. Apple and eater ending. Miss this style at home.

Bottle delivered from the brewery and drunk at home. It pours a clear, dark gold with a tiny ring of white head. Grainy and slightly metallic aroma. Sweet taste, some honey and some toffee, with the lightest suggestion of bitterness on the long finish. Some malted milk biscuit in the finish. Medium to heavy carbonation, slight body. Plain but fine.

500ml bottle from the brewery. Poured a clear golden colour with a frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, mineral, yeasty, light citrus and floral. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a crisp, light fruity, woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A solid session beer.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear golden, with a lacing white head. Aroma so British it almost hurts. The description tries to make this something very special. But reality is: it's an archetype Golden Ale - and not a Bitter as it is listed here. 230819

Clear, golden-orange colored, small white head, not too lasting. Mostly malty aroma, biscuity, medium- sweet, moderate- hoppy earthy, floral and spicy notes, some grainy notes, dry finish. Medium to light bodied, soft carbonation, bit oily.

Bottle. Malty aroma with cake dough and butter. Toffee. Full bodied, malty. Just a bit of pear and peach sourness. Some sweetness and a hint of glue. Otas and raisin. Lovely beer, both complex and very drinkable. A very pleasant surprise.
