The taste of grain has always been a vital part of the Scottish brewing tradition. We took the convention one step further, milling fine porridge oats right here in the brewery.

The result is an ale with the flavour of gentle hops, a creamy head and just the right amount of bitterness.

Aus der Flasche 2015-05 getrunken. Im Vergleich zum Red ein deutlich dünnerer Körper und Aromastruktur. Für den schnellen Durst ist es ok. Mehr aber leider nicht.

500ml bottle: BBE Aug 2018. Poured into an Abbot Ale badged glass tankard at home on 20th Sep 2017. Slight haze to the golden body, white blanket of foaming bubbles on top. Not too sure what 'porridge oats' bring to the beer but I liked the brew. The aroma was fairly low key (might have over cooled the beer) with mild hints of malty molasses and floral notes. Taste was a nice blend of hop bitterness and malty/honey like semi-sweetness, the hops winning the battle. This was an easy drinking, refreshing beer with lively carbonation. Picked the bottle up from an Aldi in Edinburgh earlier in the year.

Clear yellow beer, good white head. A very faint hint of caramel and citrus in the aroma but not much. Flavour has the same, with a bit of tartness as well. It mellows out into almost nothing after that, just a lingering hint of caramel amongst an otherwise watery finish. It’s fine. It’s crisp and refreshing.

On tap. Rated as "Eilean-Òr". Smooth fresh beginning. Malt, fresh and crisp, probably a bit too cold. Hints of grain, slightly sweet. The aftertaste is a bit watery, refreshing, nice!

Blonde ale from the Isle of Skye brewed with oats. Firm and creamy, yellowish white head, colour warm orange blonde, calm sparkling, lightly misty. Subtle and rather delicate aroma of lemon, cheese, toasted bread, oatmeal porridge, cream, walnuts and grassy hops. Rounded fruitiness in the mouth, fresh citrus touch, spicy hoppiness with a tonic water-like quality too it without becoming harsh, long finish. Enjoyable.

Cask at the White Lady jdw, as Skye Gold. Pours hazy gold, thick white head. Light floral and biscuit malt aromas. Taste brings light lemon citrus. Medium body, clean finish. Decent.
