This ale poured a dark amber colour with a lacking, white head. To the nose there are scents of spruce, pine and citrus. First sip was slightly over-carbonated with strong flavours of hops. Citrus an floral hops most prodominant. Finish is bitter with spruce flavour lingering.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Colonial Wine and Spirits, 10/3/11

Aroma: The nose is sweet malts (caramel and toffee), with some earthy, English hops as well
Appearance: It pours a rich mahogany color with a foamy beige head that leaves good lacing on the glass
Flavor: The flavor is light and balanced, it is medium sweet, and lightly bitter, with a distinctly English feel
Palate: Light bodied, slightly watery, and a creamy, low carbonation feel that you might expect in this style
Overall Impression: I actually only got this one becuase I thought it would get me my Montanta tick, but the label lied to me! It is no longer made in Bozeman, Montana (as the brewery apparently has closed), but it is now contract brewed at Olde Saratoga. Oh well, I guess that's what I get for buying this one purely for the state tick. Anyway, this was a decent example of an EPA. It isn't amazing or anything, but it works well enough for what it is trying to be. If only it could have been from Montana...

this was a nice beer, no hidden flavors or qualties, just a nice amber ale, almost a pale ale, but with too much nut/malt flavor to be a true pale. I’d do it again in the fall, seems to be a colder weather type beer.

Bottle. Pours with a lightly off-white head and a clear amber body. Aroma is metallic with stale malts, caramel, and concord grapes. Taste is stale and fruity ending with a very strong metallic note. Fizzy.

12oz bottle. Pretty bland amber malt and vanilla aroma. Deep orange filtered look to it. Nice chewy, malty mouthfeel, with a crisp hop balance. A quality session beer, with lots of malt character. Pleasant hoppy finish as well. Better than I remembered, very fresh.
