Draught chalice at Redbones on 11/15/07
Lightly hazed golden with some amber highlights. One finger of dense white head that is very well-retained and laces profusely down the glass.
Wasnโt sure what to expect from this mostly American style brewer, was envisioning too much yeast, banana, phenols, etc...but the aroma is fairly reserved, showing off light apricots and candied orange, moderate amounts of vanilla and honey sugars and a tinge of pineapple on the finish. Some alcohol warmth, true to style, dries out the finish. Hops are minimal and show no trace of high alpha acids. A lightly sweaty, cedary almost, note from the yeast adds some Belgian flair. No flaws. Not terribly complex, and not incredibly "Belgian", but well done.
Clean and well-presented are the pale malts, with honey and lightly crisp specialty malts on the finish. Banana is low as is the yeast dullness, while some peach and apricot mix with alcohol esters to give more dryness on the finish. A bit astringent by the end of the glass, on account of the alcohol and malt breadiness, but still enjoyable. No flaws. Moderate carbonation and a fluffy, soft texture (with grainiess on the end).

Another from Skyview. The aroma has alcohol and herbs. This is a lightly spiced tripel.Sweet flavor with more light spices as well as sugar. Quite sweet, and the alcohol is present in the flavor.

Hazy blonde. Fruity (pear, apple) nose with light maltiness. Thick, syrupy body. Has a hint of herbal hoppiness (sage). Decent brew, perhaps a shade clean - more like Lucifer than a tripel.

Pours out a light amber topped with a tall tan head. Very sweet and spice aroma to go with the tast.

Bottle. Amber beer with a light tan head. Nice light estery aroma with some yeasty spice. Some bubblegun and cotton candy flavor, but isnโt too sweet - nicely balanced with spice, earth, and yeast. Finishes with fruit (grapefruit and light plum/berry). Fairly dry. Hops definately present, but alcohol well hidden. Surprisingly good.

Draught at Concordia Ale house. Aroma of bananas, cloves oil. Flavour of bread, malt, alcohol. Quite powerful with lingering malt finish. The individual parts were good, but somehow they didnโt marry to make an outstanding beer.
