At 50 ibu this beer is slightly higher in bitterness than the average ESB but it is well balanced by the rich roasted malt flavours

2012-01-20, draught at Cobre restaurant on Powell St., Vancouver, 7-4-7-4-15=37
Hazy amber color; small sized creamy head. The aroma is light, perfumy, some hop and malt. Good malt, caramel flavor, very dry, also because of the strong bitterness; the hopping is aromatic, sweaty, lightly resiny and fruity. The final is very bitter. It has a rustic English touch. Very good.
2011-09-16, bottle from Viti’s, Vancouver, 7-4-7-3-14=35
Beautiful bright amber color; nice head and lace. The aroma shows fruity hops in the beginning; pond water and dust later. Dry mouthfeel, with dry caramel flavor, medium roasted malts, and quite strong bitterness; the hopping has some qualities. A good Bitter.

Amber and bright though without much head. Good floral and woody hop character balanced by slightly earthy, caramelly malts. Finishes juicy - balanced and nuanced. Authentic.
