Winner of the 2008 GABF Silver Medal and 2009 Gold Metal for German-style Kölsch. Light-bodied with a golden color and a distinctive smoothness making it a very refreshing summertime offering.
This open-fermented, easy-drinking German-style ale is hopped with experimental American hops as a twist on the traditional light-bodied beer. Pleasant citrus and floral notes add complexity without sacrificing supreme drinkability.

Very nice take on a Kolsch, grassy and mildly sweet with a grainy cracker malt backbone and a moderate floral hop bitterness on the back end. Slight lemon and apple notes ape lager esters, while the perky but gentle carbonation makes for quick drinking. Tasty pint.

355ml bottle into pony glass (140 ml). Sweet nose, a little grain. Very pale yellow beer with fluffy white head. High carbonation. Zingy and grainy, finish is more grain with a tiny hint of bitterness. Right on the money as far as the style is concerned. Super easy drinking.

12 ounce bottle, 5/7/15. Clear golden, large foamy white head, good retention. Aroma of grassy hops, pale malt and hints of apple skins. The taste is doughy malt, apples, grassy, piney hops. Thin bodied, strong lingering bitterness.

Tap at Sugar Maple. Filtered orange-tan, big steady white head. Not really true to style. Better ingredients. A nice beer nonetheless. Cleaner and brighter than a Kolsch, not really capturing the right yeast essence. Really enjoyable, just not sure I’d call it a Kolsch.
