One of the original, new-style, pale ales to be brewed in the UK, Yankee™ is a modern classic. Light and easy-drinking, it’s a beer that showcases the floral and citrus fruit aromas of the Cascade hop, grown in the Yakima Valley in Washington State, USA, projected against a back drop of soft Yorkshire water and golden promise pale malt.

Cask at the Euston Tap. Pale blond coloured with creamy white head. Aroma is malty, wheat, bit creamy, slight bit of lemon. Taste is pretty nice, creamy with a touch of bitterness but not overwhelmingly so. Bit of biscuit too. Finish is citrussy and then grainy. Bit of sweetness too, and maybe strawberry...? --- Beer merged from original tick of Yankee on 09 Sep 2019 at 16:06 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 8. Gift from Daniel Tomlinson. Rocky white head left a froth on a translucent pale golden body. Faint malt, zest & citrus aroma. Medium bodied, prickly on the tongue with a cloying back. Bitter/Sweet citrus, pith, sodium, faint malts, lemon & confectionery tastes.

Cask-conditioned at the Rook and Gaskill, York 17/12/2018. Deep gold in colour, with a slight, white, head. Ripe malts, some sweetish citrus character, leading to a moderately dry finish. Good.

Can. Very pale gold with a white head. Aroma of Meyer lemons, tropical fruit, hay and biscuit. Light bodied verging on watery. Lowish carbonation. Clean with hay and grass, tropical and citrus fruit. Pretty dry and moderately bitter at the end Refreshing but a little watery.

Cask at Piccadilly Tap. Pours a clear yellow gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma is full of straw and earthy grains with bread underlying. Flavor has lots of straw and bread with a hint of grass supporting.

Can at home. A very pale, pale ale, if you are allowed to say such a thing. A light colour and a typical flavour of bitter hops and some balancing malt. It was all very pleasant and pale aley and that is about all I can say. Look, it’s a pale ale and there isn't really much you can do with these things apart from drink them and wonder why you paid so much for it!

Hazy golden color with a fine white layer on top. Ok intensity in the aroma. Medium body and an average carbonation level. Ok balance between sweetness and bitterness. Fruity, citric, and caramel malty flavor. Decent Nice golden ale.
