Single bottle. Summit’s beers so far have been ticks for me, absolutely nothing enjoyable about them. So I wonder if this one will be any different as I sit at my computer, glass in hand, bottle opener at the ready. Oh wait, its a twist top. No cool message under the cap like some of the Texas twist-tops. Frothy white head on a somewhat aggressive pour. Very murky orange body. Bottle conditioned or just a lot of flocculent yeast? Aroma is malt first. Kind of smells rich, like a very faded IIPA. Caramel, bread, syrup. Some spent grains. Very mild and light citrus hops. Maybe a hint of pine as well, but the hops are so far in the back of the aroma it becomes hard to differentiate. Flavor just isn’t good. There is a strong flavor that I always associate with wet dogs. Some caramel and faint papery oxidation as well. Some hops, but they are all bitterness, with no developed flavor (early additions). Medium bubbles, thin with that horrible lingering after taste. Another tick from a mediocre (at best) brewery.

Draft: Pours a dark orange with a large beige head. Nice sheet lacing. Aroma is hoppy, although rather modest in intensity. Florals, citrus, and faintly sweet. Flavor is much more crisp with hops than the aroma would suggest. Florals and grapefruit, some caramel sweetness before a resiny/floral finish. Not bad, but not really anything special.

Bottled at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Clear amber, small head. Evident grapefruit aroma. Mid-sweet with well rounded caramelly malt well ntergrated with grapefruity hops. ith seemless flavuor, edgeless mouthfeel and gently growing late bitterness it’s a delightful, very drinkable IPA!

pours a foamy off white head and orange/copper color. Aroma is resin/herbal, secondary medium malt-caramel. Taste is herbal/coppery, secondary medium malt-caramel, buttery. Thanks to Joe-jwc215 for picking this out.

12oz bottle. Deep orange-copper color, soapy head. The aroma seems off to me, some butterscotch. The taste is dominated by malt, which overwhelms any hop character it might have had. Lacks crispness and doesn’t come off fresh at all. An embarrassingly bad example of an IPA. Re-rate- OK, so Im having this one again, fresh this time. The aroma is more stable, though I can see how it would age poorly. The hops are much more present, though in a simplistic soapy bitter way. Certainly not as offensive as the above rating. Light and easy on the palate, while displaying some assertive hop characters. Upped from a 2.3 to a 3.2

Bottle as shown. Pours a clear copper orange with a small frothy off white head. The aroma is grapefruit, pine hops and raisin. Decent spotty lacing on the glass. The taste is very hoppy with a nice bitter finish. A good IPA from Summit.

12 ounce bttle courtesy of Skyview. Thanks! Pours a hazy orange color with a medium head, Good lacing and average head retention. Aroma is leafy hops with nutty and toffee notes. Taste is very similar, but with some raisins as well. Very bitter and a little disjointed.

Short stubby bottle with a twist off cap. The aroma is a little more malty or chocolaty when compared to other IPA. The look is slightly hazy iced tea. The flavor follows the smell. It starts off with less bitterness than I usually incur with IPA and there is a little bit of a choco feeling to it. This seems to be more like a stronger APA than an IPA. Still has that hop impact but just not as strong. For example, the Southampton IPA I just had was a much worse and annoying hop bomb compared to this. This is a little laid back on the hops but is still IPA character none the less. Barely any carbonation. Finish is medicine bitter but it only lasts and lingers half as long as other more oppressive IPA.

Sample from tap at the brewery. Pours orange with a disappearing head. Aroma is sweet to fruity and citric. Flavour is clear fruity, with a spicy touch. Finish is malty on top of a mild bitterness. Very enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours red, with copper lacing. This beer was fruitier than I was expecting, and less hoppy than most IPA’s. All in all a decent beer.
