A traditional 80/- made with East Lothian barley. There is a lot to be said for a classic style done well, and Drovers embodies this.

Cask at Bishops Stortford Beer Festival 2010. A hazy black beer with a brown shine under a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of hops, grass, and spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, grassy hops, and spices, leading to a dry bitter finish. The body is light.

Bottled as Drovers 80/-. Deep copper with a decent, off-white head. Fruity malt aroma, with raisins, caramel and a touch of earthiness. Flavour was sweet to begin with, some roastiness, more fruit, leafy hops and a decent, bitter finish. Very good.

Bottle from The Cave, as Drovers 80/-. Hazy dark copper colour, no head. Very nice aroma of caramel, hint of spices, sour, a bit hoppy. Flavour is toasted malts, caramel. Very flat, no carbonation at all. I wonder if thats intentionally or if something’s wrong with the bottle. Otherwise good drinkable.
