Pours red with a short lasting head of foam. Best by November 2016.
Some caramel malt and light hops in the smell. Reminds me of Alaskan Amber, another Alt style ale.
Light sweetness, mild bitterness, more earthy than anything else. Doesn’t stand out but is quite drinkable and enjoyable. I wish that I remembered how this stacks up to the old original from H.C. Berger.

Can into a pilsner. My single did not have the date sticker but this is pretty fresh A: Clear tea-red color with a quickly falling head and visible bubbles. Little lace. S: Full malty chestnut kind of smell. Different and sort of nice. Another reviewer noted Coca-Cola and I agree. T: Initial thought is watery. Some roasty notes and a little toffee sweetness. Hops are earthy and fairly well balanced. M: Very light body with clean finish. O: I compare every beer with this flavor profile with Highland Gaelic Amber Ale. None compare, this is no exception. Not worth the time.

Tasting flight at the brewery. Bright Amber red with a light aroma that is peppery and malty - it kind of reminds me of Fat Tire though not as nice. Rough earthy bitter green hops in the flavor, not digging it.

Sample from a can. Clear, light brown color, with a bit of beige, bubbly head. The nose is strong, simple maltiness (maybe some whole grain bread, brown sugar, and a bit of overripe apples), with some notes of peat and honeysuckle. Sweet and malty, with a little bitterness for balance. Light to medium body, flat, a little creamy, and clean. This is a simple and yet delicious malty beer. Easy drinking, malt forward yet balanced, with a clean finish.
