We joined (dark) forces with our good friends and local heroes Stardust to brew this dark and inviting IPA. Using some dark malts in the mash, we added colour and some caramel notes to this beer but kept the roast in check before adding lots of our favourite Yakima valley hops! Expect a light roast profile with plenty of citrus notes.

Cask at EBF April. An opaque somewhat murky cola brown. Frothy not entirely impressive off-white head. Aroma combines bitterness coffee and berries with a sweet herbal edge. The flava mirrors the aroma with an additional tang (although can aroma be tangy, idunno). Medium bodied. Oily. Soft carbonation with a delicate fizz. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Enjoyable but overly restrained BIPA.

Panda thanks to Cloin. A clear dark amber - brown beer, decent bubbly pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Thin dark malts, a slight roasted malt bitterness. Crisp pine into mild citrus, slightly marmalade. A little floral pine on the back end with a vague suggestion of tropical fruits emerging. Light and semi dry finish. Fruity bitter linger. Enjoyed this, a bit thin and dry but I would say an on the money Black IPA and with a refreshing bitterness.
