Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Pours a clear chestnut brown colour with a medium sized throthy off white head. Nice lacing. Fairly lively carbonation. Light aromas of malt, caramel, toffee and biscuits. Medium bodied with a nice slick mouthfeel. Taste is malt, caramel, toffee, apple, orange and lemon peel, spice and a hoppy bitterness that lingers on the palate leaving a long and satisfying aftertaste. Pleasantly surprised. Lots of flavour for its low abv. Pretty good beer.

Cask handpull at The Lifeboat Margate. Clear pale brown colour lasting beige head. Malty best bitter with some spicy hop on the finish. May even be some rye malt in this fof the spicy finish. Decent condition. Alright flavour. Quite sweet spicy disti distinctive for Woodfordes. Yes decent enough. I like a spicy rye.

Cask-conditioned at the Maltings, York, 19/1/2017. Deep gold in colour, with a decent, off-white, head. Solid, malty, bitter with little winter character to speak of. Fine.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Appearance - amber brown with a nice fluffy head. Nose - biscuits and toffee, Something a bit dirty yeasty. Taste - orange, red fruit too (perhaps cranberries), with fudge and then dry biscuit on the finish. Palate - close to medium bodied, the middle section is dry in a crunchy yet tangy way. The finish is dry and crunchy too. Overall - plenty going on for the relatively low ABV.
