Bottle 500ml. @ ChrisOs.Clear dark red brown colour with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, light wood, spicy - cinnamon - nutmeg, flowers - perfume notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, dry, tobacco, fruity, spicy, light smoked, licorice notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20101204]

Bottle at the Rake. It pours near black with soft carbonation and a thin beige head. The nose is coffee, caramel, sweet dark fruit and burnt sugar. The taste is wood, burnt sugar, caramel, raisin, date and a little marshmallow. It’s medium-bodied and the finish is disappointingly short. Ok, but not particularly exciting.

500ml bottle. Pours black with a large frothy head. Aroma is root beer and floral notes. Root beeresque to start. Lots of roast malt in the finish with a hint of vinegar. Fair amount of carbonation. A fair bit going on, but I’m not sure if it all fits.

bottle at home .. dark red brown ... huge tan bubbly head ... dark fruity yeast malts nose ... dark fruits ... loads of licorice .. little chocolate ... dark malts ... little cherry ... nice soft and easy ... good light roast ... juicy ... really enjoying this one
