Bottle from bierzwerg.de. Hazy brown color with medium long lasting off-white head. Very strong carbonation. Aroma of roasted malt, banana, caramel, earthy notes. Bittersweet taste with roasted malt, wheat, caramel, banana, light bitterness. Long bittersweet finish. Not the nicest beer but tasty.

Almost looks like a glass of cola when poured. Very bubbly. Almost non-existent head. Semi-sour flavor with some fruit in it, notably banana. Not the greatest example. I’ve tasted much better dunkelweisses before.

This is not a very good dunkelweizen. Brown color and good carbonation, no problems there. Aroma is very light, just a little wheat. Flavor is also light and lacks flavors of a dunkel weisse. No citrus, or fruit, just a little wheat again.

The pour is very lively - it’s so fizzy that you can hear the beer from across the room (at least that is what my wife says) - lightly tart aroma, with some notes of yeast, dough, nuts, caramel, light clove and bubblegum phenols - the flavor is tart, nearly sour, acidic, apple cider vinegar - some tangy wheat and light clove and nutmeg come around behind that, but not enough to wash out the acidity - I started out thinking this was infected, but the more I drink it, the less the sourness seems out of place - I’m still not loving it, but it isn’t as terrible as some think.

A dark amber to brown dunkel with a tin off white. A nice caramle malt aroma with fruity notes, light porto qualities. In mouth, a light weak beer, deteriorated by age, mineral water, with notes of lemon and caramel, passed its prime. Bottle, BB 02-06, shared with probstk, Sept. 12 2009.

(bottle) Hazy, chestnut-brown colour with a thick and light-beige foamy head. Yeasty, slightly dusty and sweet malty nose with a moderate wheat-character, accompanied by notes of berries, toffee and cloves. Slightly sweet and minimal sour flavour, quite light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Yeasty and wheaty fruity taste with shy notes of toffee; slim and short fruity finish. Rather disappointing. 22.IX.09

Bottle 50 cl. Pours an almost clear warm amber with a nice off-white head. Light nuttiness in the nose combined with some tartness. Light body, very tart - and nothing much else. Heavy carbonation, no bitterness. Clearly infected. I really don’t think German beer should travel as far as California. 100709
