Hybrid between a Russian Imperial Stout and Oud Bruin.
Opposites attract. This sweet sour marriage combines the viscosity and robustness of a Russian Imperial Stout with the winy delicacy of our flemish red ale. Tasting this beer is like a Sovjet bombardment on your senses that throws you from Moscow to Modena and back, to find balanced somewhere in the middle. The aroma reveals chocolate, raisins and Syrup de Liège, with a sense of port wine. The thick, sweet start creates the expectations of an antitussive that pampers the throat. The tantalizing sourness when you swallow, though, crushes that expectation immediately, so you have to start all over again. Comrades, unite and drink this oil of brotherhood!

Glass at Darby's Gastown on Halloween party with Christina and her friends. Pours a very dark bropwn with a beige head. Aroma is very fruity with blackcurrant and cherries notes. Taste is sweet and sour with lots of berries, dark fruits, roasted malt. It is exactly what is decribed - a mix of oud bruin and imperial stout, but more on oud bruin side.

Drucken på fat på Malmö Brygghus Belgofestival. Massor och massor av balsamvinäger som är söt och syrlig med hallon och smaker av ekträ, choklad och rostade toner. Väl dold alkohol och lätt soja touch. Speciell, gott men i lagom mängd.

Bottle shared by F+M. Opaque brown with beige head. Heavily balsamic tartness, cherries, cocoa powder, and some ash. Quite harsh acetone. Not really a blend that suits me, two good components by themselves but not sure it works perfectly here.

Drucken på fat på Malmö Brygghus Belgofestival. Massor och massor av balsamvinäger som är söt och syrlig med fint bärigt djup, väl dold alkohol, lätt soja touch. Men väl mycket acetisk syra som drar åt aceton. Utan den riktigt bra nu ok men ingets man vill eller kan dricka i större mängder. Kul iaf.

Huge thanks Bazz! Looks pretty pitchblackish. Excessive vinegar in the aroma, more straight up vinegar than aceto balsamico. Vague vague dark malts underneath. Honestly, for me, this 6 in the aroma is even generous. Taste... Wood up front clear wood edged by a sweetish, tame vinegar, berryish slightly. Sweetish more than sour. The maltiness backs that, tannins get slightly too prominent. Quality stuff! Different as fuck too. Good job!
