Hubert? I’ve heard of him. A friend of a friend knows him. Apparently he’s awesome, but we’ve never met. Well. It’s about time you did. Most you connoisseurs would just call him an IPA, but we call him an MPA. The Melvin Pale Ale. A welcomed hand shake to your taste buds. Light, crisp, fresh and a little bitty bitter. Lets just say he won’t be that jerk that leaves you at the bar at 2am. He’s low in alcohol. What a nice guy… that Hubert.

Bottle from Albertsons. Starts off like a champ, gentle fluffy head rising from the bottle after cracking it open, which continued on into a beautiful pour. Hazy copper body. Gentle hoppy nose, caramel toffe malts, perfectly balanced, tasty, easy to drink. This could easily be an everyday beer.

This pours hazy to cloudy straw goldish with an inch of foam.
The smell has a lot of citrus. .no actually the nose is on the lighter side. Some more mild bitterness and some cracker like malt.
My palate says that Hubert leans towards the hoppy side but there’s a fine balance going on. Citrus as in grapefruit melds well with the cracker I get from the malt.
Good mouthfeel that finishes dry and bitter.

Bottle, easily enjoyed solo. Bright golden pour with a finger of thick white head... Lots of lacing. Aroma of citrus and tropical fruit, sweet and hints of vanilla. Tastes thick with hoppy bitters and malty sweetness, very well balanced. Very drinkable and at $5/bomber price point I can see this being fridge staple this year.
