Bxlbeerfest. Pours red. Aroma is sweet, sugary, fruity, cherries. Flavor is sour, fruity, cherries, bit sugar. Finish is sour and fruity. Overall: very good.

375 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 9/2015. Pours lightly hazy pinkish/reddish orange color with a 1 finger dense light pink head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big sour/tart/tangy cherries, fruit skin, lemon, lime, plum, green apple, red grape, almond, toasted oak, hay, straw, wheat, and cracker; with light leathery/musty funk, pepper, vanilla, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, sour cherries, oak barrel, and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big sour/tart/tangy cherries, fruit skin, lemon, lime, plum, green apple, red grape, almond, toasted oak, hay, straw, wheat, and cracker; with light leathery/musty funk, pepper, vanilla, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness; light yeast/oak spiciness and fruit tang on the finish. Lingering notes of sour cherries, fruit skin, lemon, lime, plum, green apple, red grape, almond, toasted oak, hay, straw, wheat, cracker, leathery/musty funk, pepper, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, sour cherries, oak barrel, and moderate pale malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tart/sourness balance, and zero puckering flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from tart/sourness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately acidic/grainy, and fairly tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6%. Overall this is an awesome fruited sour/wild ale. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, sour cherries, oak barrel, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the balanced lactic/tannic/drying finish. Very well rounded Brett complexity, big cherry fruit flavor, and nice oak presence; without being overly lactic. A really enjoyable offering.

Aromatic sour cherries, a bit of funk and oak.
I really love the balance here. Nothing seems to be overpowering. Tart cherries have a freshness aboot them and the oak brings woody notes and hints of vanilla. The Brett adds more of an earthy thing than horseblanket.
Light body and carbonation. Dry finish. Very easy to sip but I am going to take my time. It’s expensive.

On tap at Crooked Stave, pours a cloudy bright pinkish red with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out lots of tart fresh dark cherries, with a touch of brett. Flavour is dominated by dark cherries upfront, transitioning to wild yeast and light oak barrel character. Complex and well-rounded. I think I slightly prefer the blueberry one, but this is still lovely.
