Bottle sample at a tasting at Porter & Sons. Black, brown foam. Chocolate, roast, vanilla, chocolate, oxidation note, alcohol, sweet, full-bodied, bitterish note, quite boozy.

Tasting at Matt’s
Black color with small head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, some tobacco. The mouthfeel is thinner than expected, roasted malt flavor, with hints of leather, cardboard, coffee.

500mL bottle, sent from my sugar daddy, pours black with a medium brown head. Nose is highly oxidized, with coffee and roast. Flavour brings out smooth coffee, very subtle barrels, and a very dry palate. Not the most complex Hill Farmstead beer. I would've liked to try this newer, but there aren't really any off-notes as of now, despite other recent reviews. Finishes on notes of coffee, alcohol and subtle dark fruits. Good stuff.

Thanks Wally for sharing this with us. Enjoyed in Hill Farmstead stemware. Served at room temperature.
A - Dark brown pour but black in the glass. 1-finger head subsides to a thin line of head pretty fast.
S - Solid up-front charred oak and vanilla with a boozy hot bourbon barrel notes. Very small level of espresso beans that aren’t so fresh any more but smell once pretty great.
T - Wow. Okay, so the bourbon dominates the first taste. Smoked malts follow with hints of vanilla at the finish. There’s this slight grassy taste as well.
M - 40% carbonation. Heavy body. boozy finish with this grassy vanilla taste.
O - This is a beer I would have preferred to have fresh. Even still, it’s delicious and tasty and very enjoyable.

Bottle via a trade. Pours with a near black hued body with a lasting tan head. Great retention and lace. Aromas are of bourbon, fudge, chocolate, dark fruit esters, floral, plums, nutty, nougat, tar, low roast, complex malt character, lots of chocolate, light iodine. Flavors could stand to be a touch bigger to carry the coffee and bourbon. Slightly dirty, black malt (seems like), nutty, nougat, chocolate, cacao nibs, vanillin, light bourbon, coffee. Lots of esters, licorice, tannin, orange peel and old coffee. Medium to slightly higher than expected carbonation. Fuller bodied, but could benefit from a slightly heftier build to carry the flavors. Good though!

500 ml bottle thanks to Hopdog. Pours a pure black color with a medium brown head. A sweet roasted nose with some light barrel. A smooth flavor of milky coffee, roast, vanilla, light bourbon, woody, earthy, quite rich. Very creamy and decadent. Not too sweet or too much bourbon. Very good.

Bottle at Nate’s Birthday Bash, thanks to Peter. It pours opaque black, with a thin tan head. The nose is delicate notes of: roasted malt, coffee bean, smoke and coconut. The taste is smoke, roasted malt, coffee, caramel, toffee, vanilla, oak, dark chocolate, coconut and salted liquorice. Full body, average carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Smooth, surprisingly drinkable and not over-done. Good stuff.

Nate2Gs Birthday bash at the Kernel. Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Light dry palate. Rich dark malts. Nicely balanced wood and bourbon. A little fruity hop. Really nicely joined up and very drinkable. Delicious!
